Full Application Scope of Excavator Hydraulic Cylinders
I. Five Standard Core Hydraulic Cylinders Equipped on Excavators
1. Boom Cylinder
It controls the lifting and lowering of the main boom of the excavator, serving as the core load-bearing component for the machine’s digging, heavy object lifting, loading and earth stripping operations.
Subject to the maximum load of the whole equipment, it is a high-pressure heavy-duty cylinder with the highest load under outrigger support and hoisting working conditions.
2. Arm Cylinder (Dipper Stick Cylinder)
It drives the extension and retraction of the dipper stick, and cooperates with the boom to complete digging depth control, material raking, ground leveling and trenching operations.
3. Bucket Cylinder
It directly controls the opening, closing, retracting and discharging of the digging bucket, acting as the executive end for excavating earth, broken stones, muck and grabbing materials.
4. Swing Cylinder (Swing Arm Cylinder for Partial Models)
Commonly used on mini excavators and wheeled excavators, it drives the upper car body to rotate left and right to realize 360° rotary positioning during operation.
5. Track Tension Cylinder
Exclusively for crawler excavators: it tensions the track chains, buffers impact during traveling to prevent track derailment, and is equipped with a spring buffer structure.
