Application Range of Hydraulic Cylinders for Corn Combine Harvesters
1. Corn Picking Header System (Core Application)
Lifting and leveling hydraulic cylinders lift and lower the snapping header dynamically to adapt to uneven farmland, minimizing corn ear loss and straw jamming. When turning around on field edges or transporting on roads, the header can be fully elevated to avoid scraping. Folding cylinders are equipped on wide multi-row harvesters to retract side header wings and narrow the machine width for legal road transit.
2. Grain Bin & Unloading Auger Discharge System
Heavy-duty tipping cylinders support the entire grain tank for automatic rapid dumping of harvested corn ears, greatly boosting harvesting continuity. Telescopic cylinders control the unloading auger to stretch out and retract, precisely docking with delivery vehicles to avoid grain spillage during discharge.
3. Straw Chopper & Straw Returning Device
The chopper lifting cylinder adjusts the height of the stalk crushing unit. It drops the cutter close to the soil for thorough straw shredding during working, and lifts the assembly when passing over ridges or hard ground to safeguard cutting blades against collision damage.
4. Corn Husking Mechanism Adjustment
Gap adjustment cylinders fine-tune the compression distance of peeling rollers to optimize husking performance while reducing corn kernel breakage. Auxiliary opening cylinders simplify blockage cleaning, roller replacement and daily maintenance of the husking chamber.
5. Chassis Steering and Stepless Travel Control
The front axle steering cylinder delivers lightweight and flexible steering, ideal for narrow farm lanes, small plots and muddy wet fields requiring frequent turns. The hydraulic shift cylinder matches the hydrostatic drive system to realize stepless forward and reverse speed regulation.
6. Auxiliary Functional Hydraulic Cylinders
- Main clutch cylinder: Controls power on/off for safe blockage removal and equipment maintenance;
- Elevator tension cylinders: Keep conveying chains and belts taut to prevent slippage, deviation and material backflow;
- Cab overturn cylinder: Tilts the operator cabin for easy access to engine, hydraulic pump and transmission components;
- Support outrigger cylinders: Stabilize the harvester during tire replacement and long-term parking.
